Shame

Suf writes to me today and tells me a deep, dark secret (well, not so deep, dark, or secret anymore):
"I like a Nickelback song... and the video."
I question my marriage in my head, and ask her where we went wrong.
Should we have moved to Barrie instead of Cairo?
Not so fast, she says. Take a look at it.
So, I youtube the bloody song, and against my better judgment, I actually like what I see and hear!
I am so ashamed of myself.

Let there be spaces in your togetherness, ...even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music...For the cypress and the oak grow not in each other's shadow.

Such deep, dark secrets are best left unsaid.

But your love is shining through, and that radiates the world.

Yasir, Just bc ones appreciates their music doesn't mean they need to be exiled to Barrie.
My kids love their songs and can sing some of them off by heart. Doesn't speak to the complexity of Nickelback's songwriting mind you.
Nevertheless, if Nickleback can prevent excessive yelling in my minivan, then I love them and ALL their songs.

I can't believe what I just read. Perhaps this was a hallucination?

No, you read it right. I'm blaming it on Canada withdrawal. I'll take anything Canadian at this point, and begin to like it.
Went to the embassy the other day. It was all beige. Loved it.
